Best Happy Hours in Minneapolis

Minneapolis has two words you will not see on a happy hour board in most of the country. The first is bump, as in beer and a bump: Bricksworth Beer Co on North 5th Avenue lists $8 for the pair, and Bina's on Quincy Street Northeast lists the same. The second is THC. Minnesota legalized hemp-derived THC drinks in 2022 and bars now discount them like anything else, which is why Inbound BrewCo on North 5th lists $2 off pints and THC drinks.

Two-for-one rail pricing, illegal a few states east, is ordinary here. Noa on South 7th Street lists two-for-one rails from 3 to 6, Smorgie's on North 1st Avenue lists the same as 2-4-1, and Salsa A La Salsa on East Lake Street lists two-for-one mojitos daily.

Morning windows are the other outlier. The Lowry on Hennepin Avenue lists $5 wine or beer from 8 to 10 AM on weekdays, and Spring Street Tavern in Northeast lists $6.50 bloody marys from 8 to noon. Two listings here put a price on 8 AM, which most cities do not attempt at all.

Hennepin Avenue carries the most listings, with North Washington Avenue through the North Loop and East Hennepin across the river close behind, and Nicollet, Lyndale and West Lake filling in south. A dollar off is the default listing by a distance. Roughly half the windows open at 4 PM, and about one listing in eight covers a weekend.
