Legend Brewing calls its window a Halfy Hour, which is honest: it runs from 3 to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday, and then it is over. Richmond compresses more than most cities. Alewife on East Marshall Street in Church Hill lists $1.50 oysters and $2 off cocktails inside a single hour, 5 to 6. When a bar here gives you two hours, take them.

West Broad Street and West Cary Street carry about a fifth of the city's listings between them, running from Scott's Addition through the Fan and into Carytown. The currency along both is a dollar or two off a draft: Jack Brown's on Grove Avenue lists a dollar off all drafts, Capital Ale House on East Main lists $2 off, and Penny's Wine Shop on Brook Road lists $2 off every glass. McCormack's on North Parham Road applies the same idea to whiskey pours.

Weekend windows almost do not exist, at roughly one listing in nineteen, and the day splits evenly between a 3 PM and a 4 PM open.
